NOTICE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
The Cascade Town Council will hold a public hearing for the first reading of the updated floodplain hazard management ordinance on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at a special Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Cascade Town Hall. The Town of Cascade Council previously adopted the Floodplain Hazard Management Regulations on April 9, 2013. Recently, the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) has updated the model floodplain regulations for the State of Montana, and the Town intends to adopt the model regulations without any additional higher standards.
The Cascade Town Council will also hold a public hearing for the second reading of the updated floodplain hazard management ordinance on November 18, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Cascade Town Hall.
The Cascade Town Council will consider written public comment on the proposed ordinance. Comments should be directed to the Cascade Floodplain Administrator via mail to 9 Front Street, Cascade, MT 59421; by phone to (406) 468-2808; or by email to kangland@greatwesteng.com. Comments will be received through 5:00 p.m. November 15, 2024.
